19th C. japanese Meiji Period Bowl – Sennosuke Kusube
Fine Antique Earthenware Satsuma Bowl, Signed Sennosuke Kusube, Meiji Period (1868-1912)
Very nice Japanese satsuma bowl from the 19th century Meiji period. Pottery with rich colors in onglaze enamel painted and gilding. In the center a finely painted lady sitting in a landscape at the tea ceremony.
Signed on the bottom: „Sennosuke Kusube“ (1859–1941), founder of the Kusube Pottery Trading Factory circa 1880.
Perfect condition, only the typical traces of manufacture and use (e.g. some loss of color and gilding).
